Join Wine Channel TV and wine lifestyle host Jessica Altieri for a featured “Sip Some Sicily” segment with Donnafugata Wines. The name “Donnafugata” translates to “woman in flight,” referencing the history of Queen Maria Carolina, wife of Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, who fled from Naples in the early 1800’s and sought refuge in the part of Sicily where Donnafugata’s vineyards now thrive. This event inspired the winery’s logo, the effigy of a woman’s head with windblown hair, found on every bottle. Donnafugata was founded in Sicily by an enterprising family with 160 years of experience in premium wines.
In this segment, host Jessica Altieri and José of Donnafugata sip on the vineyard’s top red: Mille e Una Notte. Get ready for a treat as José wows Wine Channel TV viewers with an original musical performance with striking vocals. As always, wine is just a conversation waiting to happen.
